THE FINAL...
|
The final had arrived and Sarah was up against Hannah from the University of Nottingham Judo Club.
Jackson started the fight with a straight attack but didn’t manage to throw Hannah, Hannah had Jackson in a hold down but Jackson wriggled her way out and the fight was back on…
4 minutes had passed and Jackson and Hannah hadn’t scored, it was down to the golden score… a 2 minute fight and the first score wins. Both girls were shattered but Jackson kept attacking with determination but in the end it was down to the ref’s decision and unfortunately the decision went against Jackson and came away with the silver medal.
Sarah was disappointed with not winning gold but felt she had gained a lot of experience from the competition and more importantly enjoyed herself massively!
Sarah said the sport is very often avoided by girls and women due to it not being very ‘girly’ but she insists it’s a great way to get fit, meet people, self defence and best of all it’s pay as you go… no monthly fees!
If you fancy a new challenge or a change to you’re regular fitness regime… get to Oulderhill Judo Club and join in with the Senior class on Tuesday evenings 7.30-8.30pm.
